Microsoft Wins Third Patent Victory Against Motorola Over Android

Few days back in Germany, Microsoft?won a?patent injunction case against Google subsidiary Motorola over Android OS. Judge Dr. Guntz explained that?Android OS?infringes Microsoft?s invention EP1040406 on a ?soft input panel system and method?. This patent basically covers the method in which apps use various inputs systems such as soft keyboard, voice input, etc, built into the?OS. This is the third patent victory for Microsoft against Motorola in Germany alone.

In July, Microsoft?won a?German patent injunction against Google subsidiary Motorola. The court ruled that Android OS infringe File Allocation Table (FAT) patent: EP0618540 on a ?common name space for long and short filenames?. In May, German court ruled that Android OS infringe Microsoft patent no. EP1304891 on ?communicating multi-part messages between cellular devices using a standardized interface?.

Its time for Motorola/Google to give up and license Microsoft?s patents.
