Jackson recreation: Bowling association annual meeting set ...

JACKSON, MI ? The Greater Jackson Association of the United
States Bowling Congress will have its annual meeting and packet pickup at 7
pm July 18. The meeting will take place at St. Joseph Hall at 717 N. Waterloo
and is open to all members of the association.

League representatives are encouraged to attend the meeting,
during which rules changes for 2012-13 will be reviewed; board of directors
positions will be elected; president and secretary duties will be reviewed; and
proposed by-law changes will be voted on.

The meeting is also an opportunity for association members to
address the board with questions.

The supply pickup portion will begin no earlier than 6:30 pm

Brooklyn
teen second in bodybuilding

Danae Bundy of Brooklyn competed in her first bodybuilding
competition, the Ron Love Classic on June 23 in Redford. The 17-year-old was
second in the Fitness division in the National Physique Committee event. Bundy
trains at the Jackson YMCA under the tutelage of trainer Bob Moles.

5k
run/walk for Relay for Life

The Heroes Stride for a Cure 5k run/walk is set for July 14
starting at Vandercook Lake High School. The event, which will benefit the American
Cancer Society Relay for Life team of Logan Baileys Super Survivorss, begins
with registration at 9 am The cost is $35, and all participants receive a
race day T-shirt and participation medals. For more information, contact

Grass
Lake Traffic JamIn

The second annual Traffic JamIn 5k Run/Walk and the first Fun Run
is set for Aug. 3 at the Grass Lake Sports and Trails Park, 700 Willis Road,
Grass Lake. The Fun Run will begin at 6:15 pm, and the 5k Run/Walk will begin
at 7 pm The registration fees for the 5k are $20 until June 30 and $25 until
July 31, and the Fun Run is $10. The deadline to register is July 31. Proceeds
