mahler DOWNTOWN RALEIGH LIVING TOUR

Know how to live. Be a downtowner.

Know how to live. Be a downtowner. Tomorrow, tour goers will have the chance to find out what it means to be a downtowner during the Downtown Raleigh Living Tour, Saturday, May 19 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Produced by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, the Living Tour is for both potential home buyers and casual browsers. The Tour features a mix of housing styles including sophisticated condos at The Plaza in the heart of the Fayetteville Street District, West Condominiums and 222 Glenwood in the hip Glenwood South District, beautifully restored historic homes in Oakwood and Boylan Heights, entry-level single family homes, and more. Each home and residential building is unique in character, design, and amenities. The variety of available downtown homes provides young professionals, families, and empty-nesters different choices that suit their style of living. Over 20 homes will be open during the event, many of them on the Tour for the first time and a few returning favorites!

This year?s widely successful showcase of downtown residential dwellings comes with a fresh twist ? not only will participants be encouraged to visit the variety of homes in the area, but they will be invited to ?Meet the Designer? at one of the tour stops. Ticket holders will see interior design mood board examples, get DIY budget-friendly ideas, as well as pick up design and decorating tips.

The Tour also promises an indulgence in the best of downtown living including opportunities to shop the independent retailers and art galleries and dine at the eclectic mix of local eateries. Our participating merchants are offering fabulous discounts to event goers and there will be raffle opportunities for great prizes valued at over $500. Event goers are encouraged to get out of their cars and walk through the downtown districts and venture from one neighborhood to the next, ride the free R-LINE downtown circulator buses or cruise around on their bikes. Golf cart shuttles will be available to transport people to and from select tour stops.

As an added bonus, event sponsor RE/MAX City Centre downtown Raleigh location is providing FREE hot air balloon rides after the event (6:30-8:30 PM, wind and weather permitting) at William Peace University (15 E. Peace Street). Participants who get their Tour brochure stamped at our four featured locations will be eligible for this FREE ride!
